Sustainably
Sustainably
We're dedicated to making a positive impact in this world. Our physical GXS Debit Card is made of recycled materials and the packaging is made of sustainable materials (naturally).
We've fostered 3 leatherback turtles with Sea Turtle Conservancy, in support of their programmes and to help spread awareness about turtle conservation, contributing to a positive change on our planet!

Help them
help us
Sea turtles are endangered due in part to pollution and climate change. But they maintain healthy sea beds which are essential for biodiversity, and preserve beaches by laying eggs and preventing beach erosion.
This adoption helps us put a face (or three!) on exactly who we are trying to save, contribute to the Sea Turtle Conservancy's programmes and help spread awareness about turtle conservation. These turtles are also tracked by satellite, which helps us better understand their movements so we can protect them in all their habitats!

We are always looking for new and exciting ways to make a positive impact on the planet and our customers. If and when we aren't able to track the turtles, we will look at how to best continue championing this important cause.
We rely on the tracking by the Sea Turtle Conservancy. The Sea Turtle Conservancy uses satellite telemetry to track the turtles' migration patterns. These transmitters are attached to the turtles and they send signals to orbiting satellites every time the turtles surface to breathe. That information is then plotted on an interactive online map that can be viewed at www.conserveturtles.org (under the Turtle Tracking link). You can also track them on the Turtle Tracker App (available on Apple and Android). Please note that GXS Bank does not have control over the contents of any third-party sites or resources, and you may need to comply with their applicable terms and conditions.
No! According to Sea Turtle Conservancy, the transmitters are applied to the exterior of hard-shelled turtles with turtle-safe resin and naturally fall off as they shed their scutes or get knocked off when these turtles wedge themselves under rocks or other coral. For leatherback turtles, because they do not have hard shells, the transmitters are attached to the central ridge on the shell using zip ties that gradually fall off.
Since our GXS Debit Cards and packaging are made from recycled and sustainable materials, we want to continue to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility wherever possible. Adopting these turtles is a way we show our commitment towards a better tomorrow for every living creature on this planet.
Visit the Sea Turtle Conservancy's website which provides a treasure trove of information about these marine animals and to find out how you can best support the conservancy. GXS Bank will also be sending out updates about the three leatherback turtles we have adopted so do keep a lookout!
Yes you can! Besides adopting from the Sea Turtle Conservancy, many marine and sea turtle preservation organisations offer similar programmes for protecting this endangered population. You can do more research on the programmes available and choose what you most align with.
No payment from you is required for GXS Bank's adoption of three leatherback sea turtles, but you do need to be a GXS customer who maintains a GXS Savings Account and a GXS Debit Card. GXS Bank is sponsoring the adoption of the three leatherback turtles.
You can track their locations on the Sea Turtle Conservancy's website for free. Please note that GXS Bank does not have control over the contents of any third-party sites or resources, and you may need to comply with their applicable terms and conditions.
